BACK IN FLORENCE
We will bring you back to Florence before dinner time, but we will have one last stop at Piazzale Michelangelo!
FIRST STOP - SAN GIMIGNANO
Our first stop will lead you to San Gimignano, famous for its many towers and its astonishing medieval architecture. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990, this city is a must visit when in Tuscany. Step back in time, let your breath be taken away, make pictures of this stunning city, and savour some of the best Italian ice cream.
SECOND STOP - SIENA
Located in the heart of Tuscany, Siena is known to be Italy's best preserved medieval city. It was one of the wealthiest independent states during the Middle Ages, after which it has experienced a few hundred years of poverty after its final defeat by Florence. However, Siena maintained its fascenating medieval buildings and gothic architecture. Being the home of one of the oldest universities of Europe, Siena has a vibrant, bustling atmosphere.
THIRD STOP - MONTERIGGIONI
During our third stop we will visit the beautiful castle of Monteriggioni. This completely walled medieval town in the Siena Province of Tuscany was built in the 13th century by the overlords of Siena to command the Cassia Road running through the Val d'Esla and Val Staggia just outside Monteriggioni. Step back in time and imagine having lived in this magical place.
FOURTH STOP - THE WINERY
When in Tuscany, eat and drink like an italian. That's exactly what we'll let you do during our fourth stop. Learn more about the history of Chianti's famous wines, get a tour through the cellars, and of course try some of the best wines of the Chianti region. The wine is, obviously, accompanied with foods from the region in order to have the real italian experience. Salami, prosciutto, cheese, olive oil... try it all!
